Children’s Book Reviews

Read great children’s literature and share your thoughts on the books in this part of the blog:

The War that Saved my Life by Kimberley Brubaker Bradley

This historical fiction novel is set in WW11, with the story beginning in London and moving to the countryside. Be prepared to be engrossed in the plight of 9 year old Ada, who believes herself to be deformed, and her younger brother Jamie as they battle to find acceptance and hope.

This is a novel which will appeal to readers aged 10 and up. There are sensitive issues which children may enjoy discussing with an adult.

If you liked Michelle Magorian’s Goodnight Mister Tom then I think you will love The War that Saved my Life.
